SOMETHING TO THINK ABOUT SIN
Often when we talk about sin, we use lots of examples, sins like abbortion, homosexuality, murder, subtance abuse. I could go on and on, but I want to direct this little three letter word to the Christian, the one serving God, the one that can tell a sinner all about his or her sin. We use to call it “pointing the finger” at someone who does so many bad things. We should never be surprised when a sinner sins, that's what a sinner does. We should be praying for them to get saved and to be set free from sin, as we were long ago.
What surprises us, and sometimes shocks us, is the behavoir of the so called Christian: I'm sure you know some of these or maybe your one; James3:5-10 Even so the tongue is a little member, and bosteth great things. Behold, how great a matter a little fire kindleth! And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity: so is the tongue among our members, that it defileth the whole body, and setteth on fire the course of nature; and it is on fire of hell. For every kind of beasts, and of birds, and of serpents, and of things in the sea, is tamed, and hath been tamed of mankind: But the tongue can no man tame; it is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison. Therewith bless we God, even the Father; and therewith curse we men, which are made after the similitude of God. Out of the same mouth proceedeth blessings and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not so to be. So, Pastor James is talking about the church, the body of Christ; wow, most Christians think those who sin are sinners, not Christians, but if that were true, James would not call a sinner,(one without Christ) brethren, would he? We all need to serach our own hearts through the word of God and prayer. Please let me leave you with the word: James 4:17 Therefore to him that knoweth to do good , and doeth it not, to him it is sin.
